CORNELIUS NC: Join the Cornelius PARC Department, Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists and Stars & Stripes Presenting Sponsor, Novant Health, for a beautiful summer evening with the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra to “Celebrate America” under the stars! Music lovers of all ages are invited to come early and bring their picnic baskets, blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy a free, outdoor summer pops concert on Saturday, June 22, at Bailey Road Park.
A patriotic celebration
Sofia Swade will kick off the evening’s festivities with the National Anthem at 6:30 p.m. A prelude act by Rockie Lynne will follow with patriotic music at 6:45 p.m. and at 8:15 p.m. the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra and Conductor Albert-George Shram will take the stage to perform all of your red, white and blue favorites!
Food, fun & fireworks
This is an evening full of good old-fashioned family fun! Gates open at 6:00 p.m. There will be lots of delicious food to choose from including A Worthy Dog, Bayou Betty Cajun Express, Chicken Salad Chick, Crafty Burger, Dumpling Girls, Icy Scott, Kilwins, Lenny’s Press Box, Rolling Dough, S&K Funnel Cakes, Strudelteig and Tenders. To quench your thirst, visit D9 Brewing Company, Dover Vineyards, Eleven Lakes Brewing and Luzianne Tea. There is sure to be something for everyone!
Journey Church will be on hand with some great activities for the little ones from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. There will be bounce houses, face painting, and much more on the upper soccer field.
Immediately following the Charlotte Symphony Orchestra, stay to enjoy a spectacular fireworks show!

Parking & shuttle service:
Limited parking is available in the park. There will be a number of marked spaces available for handicapped. Free shuttle service will be available from Bailey Middle School and the lower lot of Hough High School.
In the case of rain, cancellations will be posted on PARC’s official website and social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
A pro tip is to camp out at a certain spot. Establish a little area for you, family, and friends to come and go. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs.
Do not bring:
While coolers are welcome, glass bottles, glass containers, pets, tents, tobacco products, smoking, e-cigs, and open flames are not allowed at this event.
