My wife and I love discovering budget-friendly dining spots that allow us to eat out more often. Surprisingly, we’ve found that dining out can sometimes be cheaper than cooking at home. Recently, we were excited to try Bonefish Grill’s Social Hour.
Our local Huntersville, NC Bonefish Grill® specializes in market-fresh fish from around the world hand-cut in-house every day, savory wood-grilled specialties, and locally created, seasonal partner.
When we tried to go, it happened to be the same night as a local Father/Daughter dance, making parking at Birkdale impossible. We ended up at Chili’s instead and enjoyed their 3-for $10 special (we’ll share our experience in a later article). Determined to try Bonefish’s Social Hour, we went the following weekend, arriving a bit earlier. Luckily, we found parking easily and didn’t have to wait.
An interesting tidbit: it was raining that day, and the bartender informed us that traffic is lighter on rainy days. We assume it’s because there’s less foot traffic around Birkdale. Something to keep in mind for future visits.
We ordered from the Social Hour specials menu and tried the Big Bang Shrimp and B.L.T Nachos. In hindsight, one dish would have been enough for both of us since we’re light eaters. Next time, we will probably try the Crowd Pleaser. For more choices, you could always get the Cravable Small Plates.
The service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Bonefish will be our go-to place whenever we crave Bang Bang Shrimp.
In conclusion, if you’re looking for a good drink, an affordable dinner, and a great atmosphere, head to Bonefish on a rainy day and arrive before the crowd.
