Michael Barrett, the owner and operator of Mike’d Up Media LLC, has more than two decades of experience working as an award-winning video producer, editor and reporter at media organizations across North Carolina. Most recently, Michael spent almost two years covering the area north of Charlotte as a content producer with Neighborhood TV and Cox Media Group. That came on the heels of his 14 years covering the Charlotte region at The Gaston Gazette in Gastonia. He was named Gatehouse Media’s Newswriter of the Year in 2015. Michael holds a bachelor’s degree in English from East Carolina University in Greenville. He lives with his wife and children in Charlotte.
