Every Saturday, LKNConnect introduces you to one special rescue pet searching for something every animal deserves—a safe, loving forever home.

Some pets lose their families because of illness or the passing of an owner. Others find themselves in rescue through circumstances beyond their control. Whatever brought them here, their next chapter can be filled with love, comfort and companionship.

That’s the purpose behind LKNConnect Rescue Pet of the Week.

Working closely with AnimalCity and Piedmont Animal Rescue, we share the stories of remarkable rescue animals with the Lake Norman community in hopes of making that one important connection—the person or family who sees a face, reads a story and says, “That’s the one.”

Whether it’s a dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, bird or another deserving companion animal, every featured pet has one thing in common: they’re waiting for someone to love.

This week, we’d like you to meet Jasmine—a gentle senior girl whose next chapter deserves to be filled with kindness, comfort and love.

Meet Jasmine

Jasmine is a quiet, gentle senior girl with the sweetest soul. She came to Piedmont Animal Rescue after being picked up as a stray by Animal Control. Her injuries were believed to be from an animal attack and required surgery. Her wounds have healed, and she is now ready to find a loving home of her own.

Jasmine can be shy at first and needs a little time to feel comfortable. As she begins to trust, her sweet personality starts to shine. She is more confident around women and can be a little more timid with men. She does well with other dogs and enjoys the simple things in life—especially soft blankets, comfy dog beds and a warm spot to relax.

One of Jasmine’s favorite things is spending time outside. She loves slowly exploring the yard, sniffing all the interesting smells and soaking up the sunshine on a beautiful day. A home with a fenced yard would be ideal so she can safely enjoy her outdoor time.

Like many super seniors, Jasmine has some medical needs and is still working on her house manners. Frequent bathroom breaks help her stay on track. Piedmont Animal Rescue can explain her medical needs and the care she will need at home.

After everything Jasmine has been through, she deserves a peaceful home where she can feel safe, loved and spoiled. She may take a little time to give you her trust, but this gentle girl still has so much love to give.
