Every Saturday, LKNConnect introduces you to one special rescue pet searching for something every animal deserves—a safe, loving forever home.
Some pets lose their families because of illness or the passing of an owner. Others find themselves in rescue through circumstances beyond their control. Whatever brought them here, their next chapter can be filled with love, comfort and companionship.
That’s the purpose behind LKNConnect Rescue Pet of the Week.
Working closely with AnimalCity and Piedmont Animal Rescue, we share the stories of remarkable rescue animals with the Lake Norman community in hopes of making that one important connection—the person or family who sees a face, reads a story and says, “That’s the one.”
Whether it’s a dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, bird or another deserving companion animal, every featured pet has one thing in common: they’re waiting for someone to love.
This week, we’d like you to meet Remi and Rocky: Either, or both, can steal your heart
Remi is a sweet little guy with a gentle side. He can be a bit shy when he first meets you, but once he starts feeling comfortable, his playful personality comes out! He loves romping around and having fun with his foster siblings.
Remi is a big fan of squeaky toys, and after a good play session, he’s more than happy to settle in for one of his favorite things—a nice nap. 💤
And if you really want to win him over? Give him some scratches behind those adorable ears. He absolutely loves them! ❤️
Remi is looking for a family who will give him a little time to come out of his shell and then enjoy all the sweetness and puppy fun he has to offer.

Rocky is a happy little guy who’s always ready for some fun! He loves playing “catch me if you can” with his foster siblings and has plenty of playful puppy energy.
Once playtime is over, Rocky is all about the cuddles. He loves snuggling up for a good nap before he’s ready to do it all over again.
Play, cuddle, repeat. Rocky is ready to find his forever family and start his next adventure! ❤️
