How to submit your In the Kitchen column

Email the following to our Managing Editor, Ellen Stafford:

  1. The recipe, instructions, and any hints about how you make it
  2. Two horizontal photos, (or more if you’d like to do a step-by-step), of the completed dish
  3. A short introduction (any of the following)
    1. Where you found the recipe (especially if it is from a cookbook)
    2. Why it’s a family favorite
    3. Is it quick and easy to make?
    4. Does it use a special or “secret” ingredient?

As Pastry Chef and Owner of Beyond Decadence, Maria Kemp wears many hats on any given day. In her words, “At the end of the day, awards, accolades, recognition, being a French Pastry School alumni simply don’t matter if I don’t consistently produce a remarkable product or craft a memorable private virtual baking experience. My goal is to exceed my clients’ expectations on every level and/or tantalize their taste buds.

Keli has been on the Food Network on three separate occasions: Sugar RushRomance Novel Cake Challenge and The Holiday Baking Championships. As the pastry chef owner of Bakery 28, she incorporates local ingredients from farmers within the Carolinas and promises to only use natural ingredients.
