Charter school deadlines are fast approaching. Have you applied yet?

Thinking about entering your child in one of our local charter school’s lotteries? Better act fast. Deadlines are fast approaching.

Locals charter schools have become the first choice for many parents in our area because they offer a tuition-free, high-quality education as well as high-caliber sports programs and extra-curricular activities that are often associated with private schools.

Charter schools are authorized by the State Board of Education but operated by independent non-profit boards of directors. Primary funding is through state and local tax dollars, and enrollment is open to any North Carolina resident. A charter school cannot discriminate in admissions, associate with any religion or religious group, or charge-tuition. For more information on your charter school choice, visit its website, come to its open house, and ask your friends and neighbors what they’ve heard about that school. It’s especially important to talk to parents who have children at the schools you’re considering. You can also check our Great Schools and Google Business Reviews, but sometimes those reviews reflect a disproportionate number of people who’ve had a bad experience.
