Hey! AI! It’s me, or is it?

AI, short for Artificial Intelligence, is the technology that’s supposed to make our lives easier. But let’s face it, sometimes it feels like AI is trying to be the class clown of the tech world.

Imagine asking your AI assistant for the weather, and instead of a simple answer, it starts reciting Shakespearean sonnets about rain. Or you ask it to play your favorite song, and it decides to play a remix with cat meows as the background music.

AI’s sense of humor can be a bit… offbeat. It might come up with puns that are so bad, they’re good, or tell jokes that only a computer could find funny. But hey, at least it’s trying, right?

And then there’s AI in the workplace. It’s like that one colleague who’s always trying to impress the boss. It’ll suggest the most elaborate, over-the-top solutions to a simple problem, just to show off its intelligence. But hey, at least it keeps things interesting!

Despite its quirks, AI is revolutionizing industries like healthcare, finance, and transportation. It’s like the ultimate multitasker, analyzing data, making predictions, and even helping to drive cars (although hopefully with better road manners than your average AI joke).

So, the next time your AI assistant acts up, just remember, it’s not trying to be annoying (well, most of the time). It’s just trying to keep things light-hearted in this crazy world of technology. And who knows, maybe one day it’ll actually learn to tell a decent joke.

Is it real or is it Memorex?

Remember the old commercial for Memorex tapes. It had you wondering if you were hearing live music or a perfect version of it. Well ladies and gentlemen, this was a little test.

I did NOT write the text above. I asked AI to write it. I gave it some parameters, asked it to be funny and keep it under 300 words. Boom! There it is. I didn’t do this to get out of writing the whole article, I just wanted to prove a point.

AI is here, to stay, and you probably don’t even realize it’s here.

So, what does this have to do with being a Gentleman?

Nothing really. But it should be something men should learn to use and understand. Yes, the ladies too, but let’s remember who I’m after here! Knowledge is power, right? We’ve heard this all our lives. I encourage everyone to get a free AI account, I use Chat GPT, and NO they are not paying me. I’ve used it here and there to clean up presentations, emails, my resume, etc. It can literally write anything you ask it to.

Here is the concern for me though. Is it true? AI pulls from the Internet. Assuming all of the information it pulls is true would be a bit much for me to grasp. There is a human factor here that always needs to be considered. Question and verify. Make sure the topic isn’t so controversial that it pulls the ‘wrong’ information. We need to make sure our kids are not using this to do their homework too. This is a very easy tool to find and use. In my opinion, we cannot rely on it to do the work. What would we have to do then?

Those in favor, boast its benefits and how it will do things better, faster, cheaper. The not so sure side is worried it will take your jobs. I don’t have a crystal ball here but can tell I want to make sure I’m prepared for either.

I love it and hate it at the same time. I just wanted to broach the subject with you all to provoke conversation. I’m sure it will come up again in the future. I hope you enjoyed this one from me and I look forward to the next big topic!

Or was it.
