Listen, No One Likes to Eat More Than the Fit Foodie!

Okay, let’s be real for a second. Counting every single gram of everything that goes into your mouth is a CHORE. And listen, no one likes to eat more than the Fit Foodie, okay? But I also want to be healthy AND eat amazing food. Do you? Then let’s talk about a few ways you can start doing this today!

Step 1: If God Didn’t Make It, Don’t Eat It

One of my favorite quotes is, “If God didn’t make it, don’t eat it.” Simple, right? But think about it—real food is food in its natural state. If it walked, swam, or grew from the ground, it’s the kind of food your body knows what to do with. If it was created in a lab, bleached, refined, processed, or has 57 ingredients you can’t pronounce, that’s a hard pass.

My chiropractor said something today that really stuck with me: “If there is a small healthy food section in your grocery store, then what is the rest of the store full of?” GOOD QUESTION. The produce section, the meat and dairy fridges—those are where the real food lives. Everything else? It’s mostly chemical experiments designed to be cheap, last forever, and trick your taste buds into wanting more. The cost? Poor health.

Step 2: Your Body is a Sexy Sports Car – Fuel It Right!

Imagine you have a sexy Italian sports car—a Ferrari, baby. Would you EVER pour sugar in the gas tank? NOPE. So why are you putting it in your mouth?! Your body is a high-performance machine and needs the right fuel to run at its best. Load it up with whole foods, and it will reward you with energy, glowing skin, and a body that functions like a dream. Feed it junk, and well… let’s just say you’ll be sputtering down the road of life instead of cruising in style.

Step 3: What You Drink Matters

Let’s not forget that what you drink is just as important as what you eat. Water is king, but tea and coffee are also made from real plants, so they pass the test. But have you ever seen a Dr. Pepper tree? Nope. Because it doesn’t exist. Sodas, sports drinks, and anything neon-colored should be a no-go. They’re filled with artificial junk your body doesn’t need and doesn’t know how to use. So sip smarter, my friends. ALSO, Wine is made from grapes, just saying!

Step 4: Salads Are Not a Personality Trait

Can we stop with the idea that eating healthy means eating nothing but salads? Look, I love a good salad, but there are SO many real foods to choose from. Your body needs protein, healthy fats, and real carbohydrates to run efficiently. That means meats, fish, eggs, cheese, nuts, fruits, and yes, even BACON (aka “meat candy”). The key? Stick to whole foods and skip the processed garbage that comes in a box.
