From Cornelius Town Hall to the U.S. Senate—and next, Davidson College. Sen. Thom Tillis, whose political career began as a Cornelius commissioner, will serve as a leader-in-residence at Davidson’s D.G. and Harriet Wall Martin Institute for Public Good as he concludes his Senate service.
Tillis joins former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice and Arab American Institute President James Zogby in a program connecting students with experienced national and international leaders. Through classroom visits, public discussions and conversations outside class, the three will share insights into public service, leadership and the challenges of working across differences.
They join former Davidson basketball coach Bob McKillop, who already mentors students on ethics and leadership. For the Lake Norman community, the program brings prominent voices to a local campus while helping prepare the next generation to lead and serve.
