VETERANS DAY CEREMONIES

The truce to the “The War to End All Wars” occurred on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918.

In 1919 — and every year that followed — November 11th has been commemorated and veterans have been celebrated.  However, it was not until 1938 that the day became a Federal Holiday, and it was not until after World War II and the Korean War that the original name “Armistice Day” officially became known as Veterans Day. READ MORE
