Help! I live in a house with all beige walls. I love color but don’t know where to start? I tend to like blues and greens if that helps. Your new best friend colorless Carol!
You have a color you love and must use it somewhere.
1. You have a fabric or color in mind.
2. You have a picture or area rug that must stay in that room.
3. Don’t have a clue and need professional help.
You have a great start by telling me you like blues and greens. But don’t know where to start and figure it all out. Once we talked and you told me your bedroom was bothering you the most, we decided to start there.
Since you had nothing that had to stay and loved the Teal color. That is where we started. Once you have the lead fabric, all the other items fall into place. Wall color, area rugs, pictures, and accessories.
Teal is a black undertone color and enhances wood tones. They contrast and therefore, make the wood look twice as good. Teal is a very healing color and means = Believe it! “Teal inspires you to believe in your wishes. Wish over and over until you believe in your capacity to accomplish your dreams. Believe in your wish and you will gain the power to believe in yourself”.
The Blue means = Dream it! Blue gives you the focus to visualize. Expand your mind by concentration on your future. Dream. You will gain the power of mental discipline. Able to envision a more beautiful life.
From the Dewey Color System. A perfect color for a bedroom, hospital, and office. The wall color is Sherwin Williams Composed – SW 6472. The fabric samples came from Greenhouse Fabrics.
Since you live on the lake, I went to Great Big Canvas and found these 2 large canvas’s. For you, you might go to Modern Fabric, Burgess for carpet and Charlotte Vintage, Furniture, in Huntersville, to look for furnishings and accessories. Click on the bold names and get their info.
My last tip would be to see if you have the blueprint of your home. If not, you can do a rough sketch and start planning the colors you want to see in which rooms.
