I always enjoy going into a new ladies boutique and seeing their displays, fashions, styles and colors. Everyone’s take on fashion is so different and that is what makes it fun! When you walk into Monkee’s you do not see racks of pants, sweaters, shorts, etc. Everything is on a hanger and you actually have to look through the clothes to see what they have. They pride themselves with having a mix of brands and designers. That is how they created their shopping experience.
With all of the change we have seen over the last few decades, I can’t say there is one style that fits all. We have gone from holy jeans (not in a religious way) to holy gym shoes to high heals to no shoes! This is not style- it is just people doing their own thing! I was raised never to come downstairs without being fully dressed. Skirt, or a dress, nylons and shoes! I will say, as a child,, that was not fun or realistic. I lived on an apple orchard and it was hard to climb trees in a dress!
I was also told to put my best foot forward- with a great shoe. I loved Monkee’s shoe selection! It is hard to find unusual shoes to finish the look of your outfit. From boots, to sandals to tennis shoes. They Monkee’s a good selection.
It you know me- I love my jewelry! That is an understatement. When I was studying fashion design years ago, I made a dress, dyed the shoes to match the dress and covered myself with at least 2 necklaces, 7 bracelets and 5 rings or more. As I stood up in front of the class, my teacher said: ” Miss Schmidt- you put on 5 accessories and take off 2″! My rule was to put on 14 pieces of jewelry and then put 3 more on. I didn’t get a good grade and didn’t care. Bring on the Jewels–more is better! Stop into Monkee’s and see their great display of jewelry. You won’t be sorry.
