Every Saturday, LKNConnect introduces you to one special rescue pet searching for something every animal deserves—a safe, loving forever home.
Some pets lose their families because of illness or the passing of an owner. Others find themselves in rescue through circumstances beyond their control. Whatever brought them here, their next chapter can be filled with love, comfort and companionship.
That’s the purpose behind LKNConnect Rescue Pet of the Week.
Working closely with AnimalCity and Piedmont Animal Rescue, we share the stories of remarkable rescue animals with the Lake Norman community in hopes of making that one important connection—the person or family who sees a face, reads a story and says, “That’s the one.”
Whether it’s a dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, bird or another deserving companion animal, every featured pet has one thing in common: they’re waiting for someone to love.
This week, we’d like you to meet Esme. And we have a feeling she just might steal your heart.
Ginny is a 2-year-old girl who easily takes to both male and female humans while getting along with other dogs, too. This girl is not just a pretty face, she’s pretty all over with her white-on-black markings, but she’s also smart. In one day, she learned how to go in and out of a doggie door.
She’ll bring her fun and playful spirit to win your affection. Ginny is inquisitive, always looking to see what you’re doing and where you’re going. Her favorite things are enjoying a chew toy inside or romping and leaping around outside. And when we say leaping, we mean it! Ginny can jump a 5-foot fence, so she will need to be supervised when outside, even in a fenced yard.
It’s a bonus that she gracefully goes to sleep when put in her crate for an hour or overnight. Ginny is ready for her forever home where you have love to give and will welcome hers in return.
