Description:

Have a rousing good time in Mecklenburg County’s oldest cabin—turned into a colonial Charlotte tavern overtaken by General Cornwallis and the British for the night. In the dim glow of candlelight and lanterns, drink ale while playing draughts, whist, dice and dominoes. Exchange pleasantries (or challenges) with redcoats. Flirt, boast or play the part of a spy. Get ready for fun of historical proportions!

This year kick off your 4th of July celebrations Saturday, June 29 as we invite you to step back in time to the year 1780 for the British Occupation of Charlotte.

Harassed and under siege by Patriot militia, soldiers with the 71st regiment of Foot quartered their men in Mecklenburg homes and taverns. Join the Scottish Highlanders for a thrilling, interactive, after-hours experience at Historic Latta with 18th Century games, live music, and ale. This immersive night will keep you on your toes with the reenactment of a lively colonial tavern. Admission includes beverages, tavern bites (finger foods) and beer from Olde Mecklenburg Brewery.
