Opportunities for balance based in the Lake Norman area.
The last three years have served up a bit more of a roller coaster for many of us compared to the years before. Newer terms are in the health headlines far more frequently than before – burnout, anxiety, chronic fatigue, & brain fog. The good news, which you won’t find in most headlines, is that there are holistic modalities available to balance the body and reduce the symptoms and the causes of the aforementioned dis-eases. Within my practice I utilize a three-pillar approach, intellectual, energetic and physical. One of my favorite energetic modalities is Reiki, a Japanese energy technique which uses the intentional movement of energy to holistically balance one for the greatest good which can be done either hands on or off, or by distance.
I have studied Reiki for 6 years under several different Reiki Master’s.
I am constantly embodying and witnessing the different ways in which Reiki can assist in balancing an individual forward. The initial reason I began to study reiki was anxiety reduction. After years of medicine either amplifying or masking my symptoms, I was fed up and ready to try anything. Thankfully a friend recommended Reiki and after two sessions I could tell a difference in how I felt and once I moved to an area with Reiki Masters, or teachers, I knew that I wanted to enroll and share the modality with others to assist their self-connection and balancing. The results of a study done by Harvard show that just one session can reduce anxiety symptoms, and I have clients who have testified the same. Numerous clients have stated they slept better and felt more at ease after one session. One of my favorite testimonials is from a client who was able to fall asleep during her session, unlike a massage, and yet feel renewed, spiritually aligned and restored for days after.
Additionally, a little over two years ago I was given another personal opportunity to relearn the balancing properties of Reiki when I sustained injuries from a car accident.
While I was in the trauma room several staff were caught off guard by my playing meditation music and keeping a hand on my heart center. I did not have chest pain but was running reiki energy through my body as I knew this could assist pain mitigation and escalate my healing. Gratefully the CAT scans showed no structural issues and after several hours I was able to head out and Reiki my pup before surgery, yes Reiki can be done on animals too.
Unfortunately, I had a Traumatic Brain Injury which amplified the number of migraines I had. I combined reiki with other modalities and my headache duration and intensity have been drastically reduced. As the universe has like attract like, numerous clients have come in with a headache and have left with less of a headache or the headache gone, and a state of relaxation in its place. I also work with several clients for general balance who prefer to have their sessions after a workout or race to ease sore muscles and tensions.
I also work with individuals with mindset techniques, part of the intellectual pillar, to better assist the energetic imbalances to shift. I am a firm believer in the holistic approach and many of my clients will attest that when they leave a healing session there is normally homework involved, even if they came in with a headache or sore muscles. It’s an honor to assist other individuals reconnect with themselves and shift from reactive to proactive and feel more at ease and less tense. In simple terms, assisting you balance back into yourself.
