It was Tuesday afternoon at around 1 pm — A perfect time for a late lunch!
LKNConnect’s on-camera interviewer Margi Kyle and I had just finished speaking with Debbie O’Handley from Hope House, and we were hungry. The interview was great (see the article about Hope House: Tiny Houses, Big Hopes & Dreams here).
It was getting past the usual lunch hour and we thought we’d try Kat’s Seafood Kitchen because we’d heard good things about them. I checked the LKNConnect guide and they are open all afternoon, so seafood was our choice!
“It reminds me of the beach!”
I love visiting the ocean for the fun, sun, and great seafood. Well, not only did Kat’s building and interior decor remind me of the beach, the food was fresh and delicious!
The food — what we ordered
Margi ordered the Shrimp Scampi
The shrimp were large, plump and juicy with the scampi butter. The linguine was creamy and cheesy. The portion was just right for a late lunch.
I ordered the Fish Tacos
The french fries were crispy, hot, not too salty and just plain delicious. The fish tacos were amazing. I would normally eat one and take the other home, but not today! The fish was flaky, the sesame ginger slaw added zing and the cilantro serrano crema was spicy enough to be interesting but not so hot that you couldn’t eat it.
Our server
Was friendly and attentive. The food wasn’t fast-food quick, but the wait was just long enough so you knew they were making it fresh and just for you.
Would I go again? Yes, absolutely.
