Restaurant Reviews: Lady of the Lake Dinner Cruise

3 mins read

An elegant evening on a luxurious yacht.

You can dine and dance in a luxury yacht with your sweetheart or enjoy the evening’s royal treatment with friends and family. This all happens on the 93-foot luxury yacht, Lady of the Lake, located at Queens Landing in Mooresville.

A sweet gem

Once I heard about this sweet gem I knew “The Lady” and I had something in common — a love of fine food, impeccable service and luxe quarters. You know, a swanky affair! After all, us ladies like to sparkle now and then.

Our captain welcomed us aboard!

Welcome aboard

We boarded her majesty with a short walk on the deck and entered a sparkling version of a fine dining restaurant complete with linen covered tables and candles (no real fire allowed on the ship, but lovely all the same.) As we were ushered to our table, the Captain stood proudly and welcomed us aboard.

As the vessel filled and many congregated at the fully stocked bar that had busy bartenders shaking shakers and pouring wines, we all settled quite comfortably into our assigned seats as the Captain proceeded to explain what our evening would be like.

As everyone boarded, you could have a cocktail or wine from the bar.

Safety first

After the brief safety drill and introduction about the grand vessel’s ins and outs, our dinner began. The first of three courses were presented beginning with a crisp tossed dinner salad dressed with yummy ranch or balsamic dressing.

The evening was an exchange of conversation about the lake, a trip or two to the upper level to dance and of course, the trivia of the anatomy of a yacht. And yes, us ladies were sure to remember the powder room was in the “aft” or back of the ship.

My cocktail.

Delicious food and cocktails

The meal was fantastic, and the cocktails were full and refreshing. I sent my compliments to the chef as I gracefully tried not to lick my plate clean after indulging in one of the best maple bourbon-glazed salmon entrees I’ve ever eaten.

Maple Bourbon Glazed Salmon — Delicious!

The other swanky guests at my table enjoyed tender beef medallions and juicy grilled chicken breast. Each meal included fresh vegetables and roasted garlic mashed potatoes … quite impressive and the portions were large and satisfying.

As her royal highness sailed through the evening on the calm waters and full moon lit skies, we roamed around a bit on deck and took a peek into the upper level to check out the live singer tucked in the corner. Patrons were dancing and having a fun time. Folks were all smiles, some cuddled along the outside deck rail (the aft), others just enjoying the stars.

Yes, life is good …

And even better at the lake! I’d highly recommend this magical adventure for the perfect evening getaway.

It was a lovely evening on the lake.

In addition to dinner cruises

Queens Landing also offers day sightseeing cruises on their other ship, the Catawba Queen. A Mississippi River Boat which also offers snacks and a full bar. As you sail for a two-hour tour, the Captain tells you the history of Lake Norman. You’ll see a few celebrity homes and learn about some interesting facts about the lake and some of the rich and famous residents that call it home.
