After nearly 20 years as co-owner and Marketing Director of Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Gastonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, alongside her husband Jack Salzman, Robin Smith-Salzman is forging a new path in philanthropy.
It began with getting involved in the local community, always a priority for Robin, to ensure the dealerships gave back to those who supported the businesses. As things evolved, the Salzman’s donate monetarily to local nonprofits, volunteered, provided vehicles, and other services as need required. Over the years, Robin has helped thousands of organizations but there are several that hold a permanent place in her heart…Least of These Carolinas, Lake Norman Lucky Cat, Holy Angels, Humane Society of Charlotte, Make-a-Wish Central & Western NC, Hope House in Huntersville, and Little Smiles to name a few!
As the next step in her philanthropic mission, Robin and Jack created a family foundation called Giving With Grace, which will be passed on to their children, grandchildren and future generations to continue giving back to the local community.
The foundation was the natural next step to continue making a difference after selling the dealerships and continue giving as a family. Robin actively includes their children and grandchildren in the foundation and encourages them to find charitable organizations that speak to their hearts, thus ensuring future generations who care about their neighbors.
Any organization dedicated to helping those in the local community are eligible to apply for a grant from the Giving With Grace Foundation.
The primary focus is on animals in need, or women and children in crisis but each request is evaluated on its own merits. Anyone wishing to apply may visit givingwithgrace.org. Robin was the Co-Owner and Marketing Director of Lake Norman Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram and Gastonia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. After graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Florida, Robin went to work for CBS Radio in Orlando as an Account Manager. After several promotions during her tenure at CBS, she became a VP/Market Manager and was named U.S. Radio & Records “Market Manager of the Year” in 2003.
In 2022 Robin created the Giving With Grace Foundation to further her philanthropic efforts which have become her primary focus. In addition to working with nonprofits and building the Foundation, Robin enjoys spending time with her family—she and her husband Jack have three children, eight grandchildren, and four dogs.
