Congratulations, you are pregnant!

Whether this is your first baby, 2nd, 3rd or more, a maternity shoot is a special occasion. There are not that many times in your life when you are between 7-8 months pregnant, and to capture this special time is something everyone should do at least once. BUT, how do you do so now, while remaining safely distanced from your photographer?

An exciting, emotional time

Are you loving being pregnant (I personally loved it), or are you struggling with feeling swollen and big (I had huge feet!). At such an emotional time in your life, there can be a roller coaster of emotions coursing through us, but none as exciting as the feeling of growing a new life. While you’re pregnant, you have a certain Je ne sais quoi about you. Like you have an amazing secret, something no one else can share, your baby is coming.

Ask for a pre-shoot consultation

During my pre-shoot consultations, we normally talk about the things you love about being pregnant, and the things you may not love so much. It’s my time to get to know you, how you are feeling and what styles you love. What outfits should you bring?

What is the photographer doing to promote your safety?

Now the shift is on your safety, how we can remain socially distanced from each other, while creating a memory for you to cherish? I will come to your home, masked and wearing gloves and remain at least 6’ away from you and your family.

I ask partners to help position props, family members, swooshing fabrics, whatever is needed, take my photos with a long lens and leave without touching anything in your home.

Another option — use your garden or favorite spot outside your home

Another option is to photograph you in your garden, that way, I don’t even need to enter your home.

Talk with your photographer

We can chat through ideas before I come along to photograph you — allowing me to still create images that make you feel amazing and look even better.

Remembering the joy of being pregnant

I want you to look back at your photos and remember the joy of being pregnant, and not the feeling of being socially distanced.

On your shoot day, I will guide you through posing — this is your time to relax, enjoy being spoilt and to be guided by me to create some stunning photos of your amazing bump. My photoshoots are all about having fun and this is still my aim.

I photograph pregnant women often. Social distancing and safety do not have to mean no photos. I would love to show you how special you look while pregnant, with artistic, beautiful pictures created during your special time.
