Sunday Recipes with Margi Kyle: A Different Way to Cook Hamburgers!

Sunday Recipes with Margi Kyle

From Margi’s Kitchen

Because I can’t barbecue on my balcony — and I really miss a GOOD hamburger — I heard about a completely different way to cook one.

Boil it in water!

Never in my right mind did I think I would boil a hamburger. But I tried it, and I couldn’t believe how delicious and juicy it turned out.

Ingredients

  • 1 large hamburger patty or 2 smaller patties
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chopped garlic — I love garlic, so I use the frozen chopped garlic from Publix
  • ½ teaspoon Black Truffle Parmesan Seasoning — I get mine at Savory Spice in Birkdale
  • ½ teaspoon Smoked Salt & Pepper — also from Savory Spice
  • Hamburger buns, if desired
  • Your favorite toppings — cheese, avocado, mustard, mayo, ketchup or whatever you enjoy

Let’s Cook!

I happened to be having my hamburger with an artichoke, so I started by filling a pan with plenty of water and adding garlic, salt and pepper. I cooked the artichoke for a little over an hour, until it was done.

After removing the artichoke, I kept the seasoned water at medium-high heat and placed the hamburger directly into the boiling water.

Cook the hamburger for about 5 minutes.

While that’s cooking, put the olive oil, garlic and seasonings into a small frying pan over medium-high heat.

Remove the hamburger from the water and place it into the hot frying pan. Brown it for about one minute on each side.

That’s it!

Pull it out and ENJOY!

Margi’s Kitchen Note

I couldn’t believe how delicious and juicy the hamburger was.

And there’s another bonus — cleanup is a breeze!

I also think I saved a few calories cooking it this way.

Give it a try and let me know what you think!
