Instead of giving you another long list of events, LKNConnect has planned a Lake Norman weekend for you — live music, time on the water, exploring our towns, great local food and a few opportunities to simply slow down and enjoy where we live.
Pick one day, follow the whole weekend, or create your own adventure.
Experience Living Lake Norman.
Start your weekend early at LangTree Lake Norman!
Join Waves Entertainment as they celebrate their 100th LangTree LIVE show.
Tim Elliott provides the music for a Thursday evening filled with live entertainment, food, friends and a Lake Norman summer night.
Expect an energetic outdoor concert atmosphere with plenty of music and activity. Arrive early enough to walk LangTree, find dinner and get settled before the music begins.
Don’t rush from work directly to the concert. Turn Thursday into your first weekend experience.
Come early. Explore LangTree. Have dinner. Then enjoy the show.
Looking for dinner? Check the LKNConnect Dining Guide and find a restaurant to make the evening complete.
Friday night takes us to Birkdale Village in Huntersville for Live Under the Oaks from 6–8 PM, featuring the Paul Bradley Atkinson Band.
Start with dinner, wander through the shops and then find your place for an evening of free outdoor music.
A relaxed, walkable family evening with restaurants, shopping and entertainment all within a few steps of one another.
Arrive early and give yourself time to enjoy Birkdale before the music starts.
Dinner → Explore Birkdale → Live Music → Ice Cream.
That’s a pretty good Friday night.
Use the LKNConnect Huntersville Dining Guide to choose dinner and the LKNConnect Ice Cream & Frozen Treats Guide to find a sweet ending to the evening.
Saturday we’re skipping the concert schedule.
After all, there’s a pretty big attraction sitting right in the middle of our community.
Lake Norman.
Make Saturday your family’s Lake Day.
Spend the day at Lake Norman State Park, explore somewhere along the shoreline, go fishing, rent a kayak or paddleboard, pack a picnic or simply discover a part of the lake your family hasn’t experienced before.
This is the day to slow down.
Don’t over-schedule it. Pack sunscreen, water, snacks and whatever your family needs for several hours outside.
If you’re kayaking, paddleboarding or boating, check weather, lake conditions and rental requirements before leaving home.
Do one thing on Lake Norman your family has never done before.
Explore a new cove. Paddle somewhere new. Walk a new trail. Visit another side of the lake.
And when everyone is tired and hungry, let somebody else cook.
Check the LKNConnect Dining Guide — or make the entire day about the lake by choosing dinner from the LKNConnect Waterfront Dining Guide.
Sunday afternoon, head to Downtown Davidson.
Walk Main Street. Explore the shops. Grab something to eat. Enjoy one of the most distinctive downtowns around Lake Norman.
Then take your chairs or blanket to the Davidson Village Green for GospelFest from 6–8 PM, part of Davidson’s Concerts on the Green.
This is the relaxed finish to the weekend.
Downtown Davidson is highly walkable, so park once and explore. Give yourself plenty of time before the concert rather than arriving just as the music begins.
Then settle onto the Village Green and enjoy a free Sunday evening concert.
Explore Davidson → Shop Main Street → Have Dinner → Concert on the Green.
Use the LKNConnect Davidson Shopping Guide to explore local shops and the LKNConnect Davidson Dining Guideto choose where to eat.
Want something indoors?
This is the final weekend of Million Dollar Quartet at the Cain Center for the Arts in Cornelius.
Elvis Presley. Johnny Cash. Jerry Lee Lewis. Carl Perkins.
For families with older children and teenagers — and especially families who love music — dinner followed by a live theatrical performance makes another terrific Lake Norman experience.
Check the LKNConnect Cornelius Dining Guide and make an evening of it.
Don’t see exactly what your family wants?
That’s where the rest of LKNConnect comes in.
