In a business that relies on “face-to-face” relationships like real estate, the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult to do business. Difficult but not impossible! And it helps to keep in mind, it is not going to be forever. I am keeping in touch with my friends, family and clients as much as possible. I can still provide real estate reviews and keep my clients informed. The real estate market is still moving and interest rates are low. Making an investment in real estate at this time may seem daunting but it may make sense. Even if it is sight unseen.
We are also still listing and buying virtually. Virtual tours are becoming more popular. It is not ideal, but we will make it work for as long as we need to. This bears repeating: “this will not go on forever”!
Personally, my goal is to remain positive and to remain a” trusted advisor” for everything real estate. I am taking this time to update my education and to keep current.
People here are among some of the most welcoming and friendliest that you will ever meet. The sense of community runs high in Lake Norman. I have certainly made a lot of lifetime friends since relocating here from Toronto, Canada almost 6 years ago.
Coming from a city where coffee shops are on every street corner—finding a good coffee shop was a challenge for me. Fortunately, Lake Norman is home to many coffee houses that are unique, have great ambiance, and many of them are providing drive-thru or curbside service at this time. In addition to coffee, they have pastries and friendly service.
Craft Breweries, pubs and wine venues are all in abundance in Lake Norman. Its restaurants range from upscale to family style seating. From southern BBQ to Mediterranean to Cajun and to Seafood. Lake Norman has it all! The lakeside views are breathtaking and as soon as the coronavirus restrictions are over, you will again be able to sit and enjoy a drink, dinner, and sometimes live music on the many patios.
Finally, the weather in Lake Norman is one of the best reasons to move here. We have 4 seasons, spring and fall are my favorites as the weather is perfect for hiking and cycling at the area parks and greenway trails—most of which are still open as long as we maintain social distancing.
The winters are mild and the summers are HOT! If they become too hot a quick 5-minute trip to the lake solves all your problems. Boat rentals are easy and in no time you can be on the lake for 2 hours or the entire day.
