Fantasy Football - Week Six

Week 6

The QB landscape is shifting as we move into week 6.  QB Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs is now a low-end starter based on his performance which includes the latter part of last season.  Do not get me wrong.  If a team needs to win a game, he is your man.  However, he is no longer an elite fantasy football QB.  Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen is struggling without a true number one WR.  The performance of QB Joe Flacco should have the Indianapolis Colts questioning whether to return to Anthony Richardson once healthy.  The New England Patriots are finally replacing QB Jacoby Brissett with rookie Drake Maye.  The Las Vegas Raiders benched QB Gardner Minshew and replaced him with Aidan O’Connell.  Neither QB is starter material in fantasy football.  QB Derek Carr of the New Orleans Saints is out with an injury.  He will be replaced by Spencer Rattler or Jake Haener.  It may be time for QB Russell Wilson to replace Justin Fields for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  What is up with QB Aaron Rodgers?  Is his age finally catching up to him?  You must pity the Cleveland Browns for their regretful trade and signing of QB DeShaun Watson to a huge contract.  This shows how desperate teams are to find a franchise QB and now this team will suffer the consequences for a while.

The Dallas Cowboys continue to struggle running the football.  It is obvious that Ezekiel Elliott is past his prime and his touches are being limited.  Rico Dowdle ran angry and was productive against the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Can this continue?  If not, Dalvin Cook is a dark horse who is on the Dallas practice squad, and he may eventually get a chance.  RB D’Andre Swift has stepped up recently for the Chicago Bears.  However, he is losing touches and goal line carries to Roschon Johnson.  The Cincinnati Bengals running back situation is turning into a 50/50 committee approach with Zack Moss and Chase Brown.  RB Tank Bigsby of the Jacksonville Jaguars is outperforming Travis Etienne and will cut into his playing time.  If Miami Dolphins RB De’Von Achane misses any time, then opportunities for both Raheem Mostert and Jaylen Wright increase.

New Orleans Saints (+4.5) at Kansas City Chiefs Final Score: KC 26  NO 13

Week 5 Record:  0 – 3 Season Record:  7 – 8

Week 6 Selections Versus the Point Spread

San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) at Seattle Seahawks

A potential battle for first place in the division.  Both teams disappointed in losses last week.  I will go with the 49ers since they have dominated the Seahawks in recent games.

Cincinnati Bengals (-3.5) at New York Giants

The Bengals offense is rolling but their defense is nonexistent.  The G-Men won a tough road game in Seattle, but I do not think they can keep up with the Bengals offense.

Buffalo Bills (-2.5) at New York Jets

Can I pick a third road team giving points?  QB Josh Allen has struggled in the last two games both on the road.  The Jets fired their coach which usually means the team plays fired up or gets blown out.  I have more faith in the Bills and Josh Allen.
