In this week’s fantasy football preview, Frank Ober recaps an exciting week of game-winning and blocked field goals that shaped the outcomes of several matches. The episode highlights notable performances from teams like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, and San Francisco 49ers. Key individual standouts include Lions’ running game, Eagles’ quarterback Jalen Hurts, Bears’ Caleb Williams, and Raiders’ wide receiver Tre Tucker. Important defensive plays also made a mark with the Minnesota Vikings leading the charge. Frank also covers crucial injuries affecting key players and advises fantasy managers to stay updated on player health. Don’t miss Frank’s expert tips for setting up your lineups for week 4, including the early Sunday morning game between the Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers in Ireland.
Week 2 of the NFL season saw several starting QBs go down with injuries, and in week 3, it was RBs, WRs, and TEs. Let’s take a look at the impact of some of these non-QB injuries.
James Conner will miss the rest of the season with a severe ankle injury. Fortunately for the Cardinals and fantasy owners, Trey Benson is a viable backup. It was inevitable that he would eventually take over as the number one RB and he can be started in all formats. This injury boosts the value of new backup RB Emari Demercado.
Najee Harris will miss the rest of the season due to a torn Achilles tendon. Rookie RB Omarion Hampton now fully assumes the role as the number one RB. He has gotten off to a slow start, but this talented player needs to stay in your lineup. Hassan Haskins is now the backup RB, but he is not worth a roster spot.
Tyrone Tracy will miss several weeks due to a dislocated right shoulder. This injury opens the door for rookie Cam Skattebo who provided an offensive spark when he came into the game in week 3. He is worthy of picking up and starting if you need help at the RB position.
CeeDee Lamb is expected to miss three-to-four weeks with a high ankle sprain. This makes George Pickens the number one receiver. I’ve never been a big George Pickens fan, but he is worth starting. TE Jake Ferguson should be the primary beneficiary of Lamb’s injury, which was already evidenced by his week 3 performance.
Mike Evans is expected to miss two-to-four weeks with a hamstring injury. This makes rookie Emeka Egbuka the number one receiver. Egbuka has gotten off to a great start and should be in your lineup anyway. WR Chris Godwin is recovering from an injury and may be back as early as week 4. You need to monitor his availability. In the short term, WR Sterling Shepard is a potential replacement if you don’t have better options.
In other news, The New York Giants have announced that rookie QB Jaxson Dart will start in week 4 against the Los Angeles Chargers in place of Russell Wilson. Dart was going to become the starting QB at some point this season; however, this is earlier than the Giants had planned. Unfortunately for Dart, the Giants play against top defenses in five of the next six weeks.

Detroit Lions (+5.5) at Baltimore Ravens Final Score: Det. 38 Bal. 30
Week 3 Record: 3 – 0 Season Record: 5 – 4
Week 4 Selections vs. the Point Spread
Seattle Seahawks (+1.0) at Arizona Cardinals
A key divisional game with all teams in the NFC West with winning records. Seattle’s offense has been better than Arizona’s and their defense is tough and will be the difference in this game. It will be close but I’ll take the visitors and the point.
Green Bay Packers (-6.0) at Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys are a mess and now they’re missing WR CeeDee Lamb, their best player. The Cowboys primarily play a zone defense and they’re terrible at it. Green Bay is coming off a tough loss to the Browns and they take it out on the Cowboys. Take the visitors and give the points.
Denver Broncos (-7.5) vs. Cincinnati Bengals
QB Jake Browning had a nightmare game against the Minnesota Vikings defense and now must face Patrick Surtain and the stellar Broncos defense. This feels like a get right game for Bo Nix and the offense. It’s a lot of points to spot the Bengals but the Broncos win going away.
