Catawba Riverkeeper is taking environmental education onto the water, giving students an opportunity to learn firsthand about the river system, water quality, and the importance of protecting one of our region’s most valuable natural resources. Through hands-on experiences, the program hopes to turn curiosity about Lake Norman and the Catawba River into a lifelong commitment to environmental stewardship.

Another social district is coming to Cornelius.
Town officials approved an ordinance establishing a second social district, this time in the Peninsula Village area. The move adds another designated area where participating businesses and visitors can take advantage of the town’s growing social-district concept — and could bring a new dimension to dining, entertainment, and gathering in this busy part of Cornelius.
