Too much Sun is never good. Protect your skin!

Vitamin D is essential to multiple roles in maintaining healthy skin. According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, unprotected exposure to the sun’s ultraviolet rays can cause damage to your skin. Your melanin absorbs the dangerous UV rays that can do serious skin damage. This damage can lead to premature skin aging or skin cancer. The reason a sunburn occurs is because the UV damage surpasses the protection that your melanin can provide.  It’s recommended to have a small amount of sun exposure, but too much sun exposure can be incredibly damaging to your health. You should use a water based broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 to exposed skin. A broad-spectrum sunscreen protects you from UVA and UVB rays and should be reapplied every 2 hours that you’re exposed to the sun.

Your lips should also be protected by wearing a lip balm that has an SPF of at least 15.  Moderate exposure to sunlight and consuming foods rich in vitamins can make sure that you get sufficient amounts of vitamin D. However, make sure to consult with your doctor before starting on a vitamin D supplement. Be extra careful when you are around snow, water, and sand. These can reflect the sun’s ultraviolet rays and increase your risk for a sunburn. So find some shade around 10am to 4pm around this time, since the sun’s ultraviolet rays are at its strongest. When it’s time to cleanse your skin, be sure to include antioxidants and moisturize well. Be sure to do your research and find which one is best for your skin. Remember to grab your sunglasses, hats, umbrella to avoid direct sunlight exposure.

Eating well is another great way to get extra Vitamin D supplements.

I don’t like to cook fish so that is what I try to order when I go out for dinner or lunch.

Purifi IV has vitamin D that can be taken in the form of an injection or as an add on to any IV drip, including plain saline. If you want to be wrinkle free, try some vitamin D!
