Super Tasty “Touchdown” Tuna Tacos

Tropical Fruit Salsa-Cilantro Lime Crema-Crispy Beets

You will score big points when you pass these delicious easy to prepare fresh tuna tacos during the big game! The sprinkle of Jamaican jerk spice pairs perfectly with the sweet beer enhanced fruit salsa and the savory splash of the crema. Topped off with a pinch of colorful crispy fried beets and set in a warm soft flour tortilla completes this fun and scrumptious taco. Give yourself thirty minutes to put this all together and three street size tacos per person will do the trick depending on how many other appetizers you serve. This recipe will make 12. Vegetable oil

1 pound fresh tuna steak, cut into 4 portions

1 Tablespoon Jamaican jerk spice

1  cup pineapple, diced

1  cup mango, diced 

1  cup papaya, diced

½  small red bell pepper, diced

¼  small red onion, diced

1 ounce pale lager 

½ orange, juiced

2 Tablespoons sour cream

1  Tablespoon mayonnaise

1  Tablespoon cilantro, coarsely chopped

1  lime, juiced

Pinch of cumin

Dash of Worcestershire Sauce

Dash of Tabasco

12 street size flour tortillas, warmed

1 cup crispy beets, store bought


1. Coat a cast iron skillet with the oil and heat over medium high heat.

2. Evenly season all sides of the tuna with the spice. 

3. Place the tuna into the hot skillet and sear it on all sides for 3 to 4 minutes.

4. Mix the ingredients for the fruit salsa.

5. Blend the ingredients for the crema.

6. Remove the tuna from the pan, evenly slice the fish and place equal portions into the tortillas.

7. Top each taco with the salsa, crema and crispy beets.
