- Saturday Success Stories with Joe Vagnone
Every week, LKNConnect is proud to introduce one special rescue pet searching for a loving forever home.
Some pets lose their families because of illness or the passing of an owner. Others find themselves in rescue through circumstances beyond their control. Whatever their story, each one deserves another chance to experience the love, comfort, and security of a family.
That’s why we’re launching LKNConnect Rescue Pet of the Week.
Each Saturday, we’ll introduce you to a remarkable rescue pet from AnimalCity. By sharing their stories with the Lake Norman community, we hope to connect wonderful animals with caring families—and help create happy endings, one adoption at a time.
Whether it’s a dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, bird, or another deserving companion animal, every featured pet has one thing in common—they’re looking for someone to love.
Our first featured pet is guaranteed to steal your heart.
Tipsy is a petite, dignified senior lady (approximately 12–16 years old) who is looking for a very specific kind of home—one that values patience, quiet companionship, and relationships that grow slowly over time.
Tipsy lost her person when they passed away, and her world changed all at once. Since then, she’s been learning how to feel safe again in new spaces. She’s cautious, easily startled, and needs time to build trust—but once she does, she’s incredibly sweet and deeply affectionate in her own gentle way.
She loves being near her person, asking for pets with soft head bumps, and keeping close without needing to be held. Tipsy does not enjoy being picked up and does best with someone who respects her boundaries and lets her choose when and how to connect. Her affection is sometimes quite loud, intentional, and deeply meaningful.
Tipsy is partially or completely deaf, which gives her a charming habit of loud meows and also means she’s requires an indoor-only, calm environment. She sleeps much of the day, enjoys peaceful routines, and is comfortable spending time on her own once she feels secure.
This is not a cat for someone looking for instant affection or an easygoing personality right out of the gate. But for the person willing to move at her pace, Tipsy offers something rare: a slow, steady bond built on trust, safety, and choice.
Sometimes a video tells the story better than words ever can.

If you’re someone who understands that the most beautiful connections are often the ones that take time—and if you’re looking for a quiet companion to share your days—Tipsy may be the cat you’ve been waiting for.
LKNConnect is honored to partner with AnimalCity, a nonprofit organization dedicated to giving rescue pets a second chance. Founded by Leah Henrichsen, AnimalCity works tirelessly to help animals whose owners have passed away, become incapacitated, or can no longer care for them find safe, loving forever homes.
Their compassion and commitment have helped countless pets begin a new chapter—and together, we’re hoping Waffles will be next.

If you believe Tipsy could be the perfect addition to your family, contact AnimalCity to learn more about the adoption process or to schedule a visit.
Not everyone can adopt a pet—but everyone can help save one.
If Tipsy isn’t the right fit for your family, please consider sharing this story with your friends, neighbors, and social media followers. One simple share could introduce Tipsy to the person who has been searching for a loyal companion.
Together, the Lake Norman community can help more rescue pets find the loving homes they deserve.
Because every pet deserves a second chance… and every forever home begins with a single introduction.
At LKNConnect, we believe communities are built through connections—not only between people and local businesses, but also between people and the pets who need them most.
Every adoption changes two lives: the life of a rescue pet and the life of the family who welcomes them home.
We hope you’ll join us every Saturday as we introduce another remarkable rescue pet searching for a forever home.
Together, let’s create more happy endings—one pet at a time.
