People in the Know with Margi Kyle: Special Guest Steve Melton – Kairos Ministry

About Today’s Episode

On People in the Know, Margi Kyle welcomes Steve Melton to discuss his work with Kairos Prison Ministry, a Christian ministry bringing hope, faith and encouragement to people impacted by incarceration.

Steve is asking the Lake Norman community to help provide cookies for approximately 1,400 incarcerated men, along with correctional officers and staff. Each person will receive at least two dozen cookies during the upcoming Kairos retreat.

Cookies may be homemade or store-bought and should be placed in two-quart resealable plastic bags labeled with the cookie type. Chocolate chip, oatmeal, sugar, M&M and peanut butter cookies are popular. Brownies and Rice Krispies treats are also accepted. Sugar-free and gluten-free options are welcome.

Donations may be delivered Wednesday, September 23, between approximately 10:00 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. at The Peninsula Club, 19101 Peninsula Club Drive in Cornelius. Ask for the Rotary meeting and look for Steve near the back of the room.
