You Get That Laid Back Island Feeling at Latitudes in Denver, NC!

The warmth of the tropics but indoors!

You feel it right away when you mosey into this cozy little place right off Business HWY 16 in Denver. The mellow vibe of island décor all over along with some cool beats on the sound system can make you start thinking “Is that 5 O’clock Somewhere” here? You can see it on the faces of the dining locals, grasping mugs of beer and sipping wine, red red wine and everyone having a relaxed good time. It takes just a few seconds for me to fall in step and just chill. This is a quiet night compared to Wednesdays when they have wing and wine specials and other nights where they have a DJ, karaoke and dress up parties with lots of drink specials.

The food here has its own groove

Rueben and home-made Coleslaw

With a great Chef that makes favorites the locals crave along with great new menu items that revolve around the holidays and special events. One of my favorites is the Classic Reuben Sandwich with their homemade coleslaw.. I can never eat just one half.. or use just one napkin, with dressing all over me and napkins all over the counter, it’s always a tummy pleaser. Tonight I opted to watch my dining partner indulge and battle with dripping dressing and extra napkins while I tried one of their new Island Menu options.

You had me at Pot Pie!

Jerk Chicken Pot Pie

Yep, I have big eyes for pot pies! And this one didn’t disappoint. It looked as exotic as it sounded, the Jerk Chicken Pot Pie was placed in front of me, along with those napkins (a sign I might be diving into some gravy or saucy goodness. wink wink). The aroma of spices and that big flaky Puff Pastry on top was heaven. Warm and soft and pastry scooped up with juicy flavorful chicken. At this point if you asked me what one thing I would want if stranded on a desert island, I would say this pot pie! And my vodka and soda with lime please. Between the food and the atmosphere, you almost think you’re going to walk out of here into some beach sand. Maybe that’s a sign I need to plan an island escape? Well, until I do, I’ll plan to come back another night to chill, and surely sometime around 5 O’clock!

Tonight I wanted to try something different — So I ordered their Moscow Mule. Delicious!
