It has been 19 years since that terrible day when terrorists flew two planes into the World Trade Center towers. For some of us, it seems like yesterday — we remember exactly where we were and what we were doing when we heard the news. Others weren’t even born yet.

In 2018, I had the privilege to visit the National September 11 Memorial Museum in Manhattan, NY. It is an extraordinary and emotional experience. The museum does an excellent job of capturing the enormity of the tragedy and translating that into individual experiences.

 

Cornelius 9/11 Ceremony is closed to the public

The Cornelius Fire Department wants you to know that their traditional 9/11 ceremony today is private this year. They do encourage the public to visit the Cornelius Never Forget 9/11 Monument at your leisure throughout the weekend to quietly reflect and remember. Please remember to wear face coverings and maintain social distancing when you visit.
