“Hidden Treasures” are not always found in “brick and mortar” stores. Sometimes shoppers can find true “treasures” at BARGAIN prices at local YARD SALES – also called Garage Sales.
During the hot summer months, people often utilize their “indoor time” by cleaning out closets, attics and garages in hopes of purging items they have outgrown and/or do not use in order to make way for NEW THINGS. This is a win/win for everyone because bargain shoppers can find amazing deals at a fraction of the cost of new items bought in stores — and – sellers can make a little money in the process — plus — clean their house.
As cooler autumn temperatures bring relief from the summer heat, shoppers are on the lookout for yard sales in their area. Every Saturday, there are multiple options and die-hard bargain hunters are on the move!
Look no further than THE HARBOUR in Mooresville, NC because . . . their community MEGA event is the BEST YARD SALE OF THE SEASON.
Traditionally, 40 to 50 families participate with thousands of items to sell – from furniture, electronics, appliances, bikes and workout equipment to jewelry, clothing, arts & crafts supplies, TOOLS, antiques, books, games and toys for all ages . . . and that is just a fraction of what is offered.
Shoppers come from as much as a 60 to 70 mile radius around Mooresville – arriving from Hickory, Salisbury, Winston Salem, Greensboro, Charlotte and even as far away as towns in Virginia and South Carolina.
It’s common to hear shoppers say . . .
“We love this event – we make it a family affair.”
“The people are so nice.”
“My girlfriends and I do this as a group — we always find the best clothes!”
“I got everything I need for my baby!”
“Why spend money on gas to travel all over the county to small yard sales when you can go to ONE NEIGHBORHOOD and find it ALL. It’s Yard Sale Heaven!”
“My husband loves it because he always finds tools at great prices.”
“This yard sale is well organized and so fun!”
General consensus . . . “It is a fabulous way to spend a Saturday morning!”

Take I77 WEST on Brawley School Rd (in Mooresville, NC) Travel approximately 5 miles on Brawley School Rd. Right on Bay Harbour Rd (first turn after passing The Point sign) OR put The Harbour Clubhouse address in your GPS: 130 Bay Port Lane, Mooresville, NC 28117
MAPS/FLYERS with participating addresses and spotlighted items for sale will be at the corner of BAY HARBOUR RD AND LAKE MIST DRIVE. Participating homes will have a flower with streamers on the mailbox.
This is a favorite place for shoppers. Not only can they find treats, food and accessories for their pets, they can also find GREAT bargains for items from clothing to furniture and everything in-between.
Traditionally, those families who do not have enough “treasures” to host a yard sale at their address will donate their “treasures” to one of the two locations that give their profits to animal charities. As a result, there are countless items for sale – these locations are a MUST VISIT because there is so much available PLUS all of the proceeds go to a good cause.
If you arrive early, don’t let the long line at the entrance scare you. Once the little lady hands you a map/flyer at the corner of Bay Harbour Rd and Lake Mist Drive, you can travel to the first address that catches your fancy. NOTE: The best strategy is to go to the end of the road and work your way BACK – instead of stopping at the first busy residence. That way you will stay out of the “bottleneck” and use your time wisely.
Periodically — until the event on the 28th — pictures of “treasures” that are being sold will be posted on this Facebook page:

Be sure to click on the ALBUM TITLE “The MEGA Harbour Community YARD SALE is Saturday September 28th” to view ALL of the pictures at the same time. NOTE: more pictures will be added daily until the event.
They will help you navigate the community to find exactly what you want!
