PETS – Rescues Helping Rescues

The challenge we ALL share

It’s hard to turn on the news or look on social media, without hearing about animal rescues and shelters, Nationwide, overflowing with animals in need. It’s always a challenge, but now more than ever. We need help! This should be a concern for everyone. Piedmont Animal Rescue is hosting an event called Food, Brew and Rescue to bring the rescue community and the public together to try to help on a local and statewide level.

Who is Piedmont Animal Rescue?

We don’t just have dogs and cats- we have horses, birds, donkeys and you name it!

Piedmont Animal Rescue’s motto is “Where Animals Come First” and we live that motto every day. We are a 501(c)3 animal rescue that has been in operation for over 5 years. During that time, we have rescued nearly 5000 animals of all kinds. We are an all-foster based program; that means when an animal comes into our program it goes directly into a home, not a kennel or shelter facility. We are an all-volunteer rescue; no one at our rescue receives a salary. We are totally funded through contributions from the public. All donations go directly to the care of the animals in our program. But, Piedmont Animal Rescue is not just “about” our rescue, we want to help our rescue partners, as well!

What is Food, Brew, and Rescue all about?

The main objective of this event is to help animals get adopted, to educate the public about animal rescue, and to stress the importance of spay and neuter. We have opened this event to ANY 501(c)3 animal rescue and ANY county shelter in NC that wants to participate. ALL rescues and shelters have the same goals and we need to work TOGETHER to solve the pet population problem.

Our last large-scale event called the First Annual Rescue Roundup had approximately 1,800 people in attendance. We had 15 animal rescues and 3 area shelters participate. The outcome of that event resulted in the adoption of over 50 animals, as well as education and awareness of animal rescue in the community.

Planning is underway—Mark your calendars now!
