Truly found here at Willow Wood Coffee

Located in Cornelius, this cozy coffee spot has a mellow vibe unlike any coffee place I’ve been to, in Lake Norman. Upon entering you see the warm earthy tones of the interior, and the simple neatly organized shelves of products. Right away you feel a notch on the Zen side like you’re about to settle in for a spa day rather than your caffeine fix!  You can even sit outside if preferred at one of the several umbrella covered tables.

So with Peace and Coffee on my mind

I directed my attention to the artistic chalkboard menu on the wall, with very neat and colorful chalk penmanship listing food and beverage items, both breakfast and lunch selections and a nice list of beverage options like Latte’s, Cold Brews, Hot and Iced Coffees, to Hot Chocolate and Iced Tea. They even have both regular and sugar free flavor syrups to add to your beverages.

The friendly gal behind the counter greeted me and offered to take my order, I hesitated since I was indecisive between the Panini with Pea Salad and the Turkey Cheddar Apple with Honey Mustard. They both sounded so mouthwatering right! As I turned to answer her that’s when I spotted the ENORMOUS apple fritter in the dessert case in front of her. She smiled and gave me that “YEP”. “Everyone does that” look so I nodded in agreement and pointed to that exploding apple baked pastry and verbally added an iced caramel coffee with cream. Ah, the perfect balance of caffeine and sugar shock at 3:00 in the afternoon!

Apple Fritter and Iced Carmel Coffee

What a great place to network and meet friends

I thought as I carried my afternoon sugar shock kit to the table where my friend and colleague Bob waited with no anxiety whatsoever. Even though we were there for a power packed meeting of the minds, he had adapted to the mellow flow of this place too as he worked happily away on his laptop. He didn’t hide his shared excitement regarding the massive apple fritter and with a thumbs up of approval said I certainly made a good choice! The quiet atmosphere made for a perfect spot for our brainstorming and catching up. Only light tunes played at a low level on the sound system, so it was not distracting but added to creative thinking and great conversation. It was the first time I needed a to-go box for an apple fritter!

Bob and I both agreed this was the place to go for great coffee and a great atmosphere for that much needed afternoon boost. Not to mention, friends don’t let friends eat Fritters alone.
