Step into Ed’s Tavern, and you’ll feel like you’ve walked into an Irish pub with a mountain lodge twist. The big fireplace in the dining room and the stained-glass-style doors and windows set a warm, inviting mood. Those giant red doors open to a lively bar and dining room that’s perfect for a casual night out or a cozy meal with friends. It’s got charm for days that makes you want to settle in and stay awhile.
When it comes to the food, Ed’s Tavern knows what they’re doing. Event manager Peyton Lynch insisted I try the wings, and she wasn’t kidding—they’re legit. As a wing connoisseur, I can confirm these were juicy, flavorful, and just the right size.
I sampled the Cajun dry rub and the Nashville hot. Thankfully, the latter wasn’t overly smoky and had an amazing kick.
Then I tackled the Southwest salad—absolutely massive and packed with fresh jalapeños and shaved steak. The dressing had a serious punch, so if you’re not into spice, ask for regular ranch.
Peyton also hyped up the pasta dishes, and the Cajun chicken pasta did not disappoint.
And let’s talk about the mac and cheese—it was pure comfort, reminiscent of a family cookout, crafted with the love and care of a treasured family recipe. Absolutely delicious!
When I asked about dessert, Peyton handed me a cocktail menu or suggested a stroll to Bruster’s Ice Cream across the street. Naturally, I chose the cocktails and tried Ed’s Punch. I will definitely be back to try more of their delicious “desserts” next time!
Next, Peyton, the awesome event coordinator, showed me the “Loft” upstairs, and it’s fantastic. This private party spot holds over 100 people and has a great vibe with plenty of seating, restrooms, a private bar, and a screen for presentations. I’d totally host an event here—it’s both adorable and functional, a real hidden gem for your next shindig.
While Ed’s Tavern offers plenty of indulgent dishes, they haven’t forgotten the health-conscious crowd. They’ve got salads with grilled chicken and veggies, and a grilled chicken platter with veggies and rice. If you’re on my W.I.N. program, I suggest the burger without the bun, a grilled chicken salad without the cheese, the Philly steak sub without the bun or cheese, or the grilled chicken platter with no rice and extra veggies. You can make it work here too!
But let’s be real—quesadillas, wings, burgers, tacos, pasta, hummus, buffalo chicken dip, boom boom shrimp, and sweet potato fries? I’m probably not coming here for a health kick; it’s definitely cheat meal territory!
