Affordable Dining Tips – Buying Wine

Ok, this may not be a “Dining Tip” for going out to eat however, how about when you have the grill fired up or are making that special dish at home. Even then, I don’t want to pay too much for that glass, or two, of wine. As “they” say, you don’t need to spend a lot to get a good tasting wine. If is all about what you like.

A tasty bottle of wine doesn’t always have to break the budget.

You have heard it said:  There’s absolutely nothing wrong with “cheap wine.” Not all celebrations call for shelling out big bucks for a bottle. Sometimes we simply need a “we made it through another day!” kinds of celebrations.

There are plenty of wines that deliver the taste and quality without breaking the bank. There’s great value to be found with many wine regions producing quality pours at incredible bargains. And by that, we mean priced at $10 or less a bottle.

So, you say, “I really can’t find something I like for these lower prices.”

No problem, let me fill you in on how I get around this issue. It’s called, “20% off case wine weekend” I am a e-VIC member at Harris Teeter and they offer 20% off case wine at least once per month. (Normally they also have 10% off half case on a regular basis)

Let me tell you about my recent purchase.

Now for the good part.

I purchased a case of wine on Thursday. Why does that matter? Being a senior citizen, I get 5% off my purchase on Thursday’s. Add that discount to the 20% off the case wine my total bill was $78.38. Not bad for 12 bottles of wine, at a regular price of $167.88.

Bottom line.

Watch for the 20% off case of wine weekend, save a ton of wine, and Enjoy.
