Hidden Treasures: Do You Enjoy Wine and Shopping at the Same Time?

Wine + Shopping = Good Time for All

Most people have heard about the fabulous Sip & Shop that The Point hosts every Holiday season; however, have you heard about The Harbour’s Mistletoe & Merlot annual event? This “Hidden Gem” is not as large and sprawling as the one at The Point, but The Harbour’s shopping party is quite elegant and – the word on the street – “Mistletoe & Merlot is intimate and friendly. They have a wide variety of vendors and the food is outstanding.”

The black, white and gold color scheme gives it a regal flair that adds to the ambiance. Both shoppers and vendors enjoy the occasion.

“We do not serve ‘store bought’ treats. All of our food is homemade,” states Committee Chairman Becky Prothro. “Last years’ favorites were Oreo Bits, Pudding Cups with raspberries, Chicken Salad on Naan Bread, and mini cheese balls – all of which will be on the table again this year plus a few more surprises.

This year’s Mistletoe & Merlot is scheduled for Thursday, November 3rd from 4:00 to 8:00 at The Harbour’s Clubhouse – 130 Bay Port Lane in Mooresville, NC. The event is FREE and all are welcome to attend.

There will be fourteen vendors with a lovely variety of products – something for every person on your list – great gifts for family and friends — or buy something special for yourself. Men enjoy this event too. They can complete their Holiday shopping all in one day!

During the event, the committee members wear aprons made by one of this year’s vendors – Patricia Harshman of Lakeside Quilts.

“We cannot pull this event off successfully without the help of our husbands – they are the backbone,” states Becky Prothro who has been part of the committee since 2018. “We work together as a team – like a well-oiled machine,” adds Ginny Minarik.

“Ralph and I love working on community events. Our neighborhood exudes friendship and Mistletoe & Merlot is the perfect example of it,” says Debi Calicher with a warm smile.
“This is my first time on the committee, and I am looking forward to the event,” states Virginia McDonnell. “I enjoy being part of the process and watching it unfold.”
“I am so excited to attend Mistletoe & Merlot again this year!” says shopper Amiee Vetter. “What a fun night and a great way to support local craftsmen. Last year, I found a beautiful Lazy Susan made from a wine barrel by Lakeside Woodworkers. I can’t wait to see what creative treasures I find this year.”
