Rock the Lake Benefit Concert for Western North Carolina

Live Music has always been the heart of the Lake Norman area. So many bands, so many venues. Residents have always had a plethora of options to hear their favorites bands and different types of music. This weekend, the community will come together to support our neighbors to the west that have been impacted by the recent hurricanes.

Colin Furcht, LKN Connect’s LKN Live Music contributor, and Tim Trautman, Manager of Unknown Artist, have joined together with 12 of the area’s best bands/musicians to bring us Rock The Lake! With the generous support of Lake Norman Brewery, a full day of music will take place on two outdoor stages. Tickets are only $25 and every dollar will go to Samaritan’s Purse and another local charity to be named shortly.

With many other opportunities to donate food, water and clothing, the team decided to put forth their effort with one of the area’s most prominent charities in the Carolinas. “Samaritan’s Purse has been providing relief throughout Watauga County—home to Samaritan’s Purse international headquarters in the town of Boone—and in neighboring counties around North Carolina’s high country and into Tennessee. Southwest of Boone, rivers raged outside their banks causing widespread destruction in and around Asheville, North Carolina. Our relief response there extends around Buncombe County, which includes Asheville, Black Mountain, Montreat, and Swannanoa. More recently, we opened a third base in the hard-hit town ofBurnsville, to include Mitchell and Yancey counties, also in western North Carolina.”

You are encouraged to come early to see your favorite band and stay late to see some new ones. All of the bands play in the Lake Norman area and have donated their time and talents to the amazing cause. The day starts at 1pm and goes on until 8pm with all bands playing for 40 minutes and acoustic sets being 20 minutes each. The lineup is here:

Food trucks will be there along with the dozens of craft brews from the Lake Norman Brewery own taps!
