At Eleven Lakes Brewing Co. in Cornelius, every pint has a story—and it all began with two friends, a garage, and a dream.
Back in the summer of 2007, neighbors Jack Lippy and Ray Hutchinson found themselves sharing laughs—and not-so-great beer—in their backyard. With a desire to elevate their weekend rituals, they took matters into their own hands. What started as small experimental batches in Ray’s kitchen quickly became a full-blown passion project. The scent of boiling wort soon filled the Lippy garage, drawing curious neighbors who were more than happy to taste-test the latest creations.
As their recipes got better, so did the buzz—both from the beer and the community it brought together. Eventually, even Teri’s garage became part of their brewing journey (until they wore out their welcome there too). But rather than stop, they leveled up.
What emerged from those humble beginnings is Eleven Lakes Brewing Co.—a gathering place that reflects the same spirit of friendship, craftsmanship, and community that sparked it all. It’s more than a brewery—it’s where great beer and great people come together, one pour at a time.
