Jodi DiPietro Fitzgerald passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, known for her strength, generosity, and lifelong commitment to serving others.
Jodi shared a loving marriage with her husband, Dr. Douglas Fitzgerald. While raising three young children, she earned her nursing degree and went on to serve as a Nurse Manager at UNC and Duke hospitals, where her compassion and leadership touched many lives. She later earned her law degree and opened her own practice, continuing her work as an advocate. In recent years, Jodi co-founded LKNConnect, a community-focused digital platform serving the Lake Norman area.
Jodi and Doug were members of Davidson College Presbyterian Church, where faith and community were central to their lives. She loved flowers, found peace near the water, and had a special fondness for African Grey birds.
She is survived by her husband, Dr, Douglas Fitzgerald; her brother John DiPietro, her children, Cheryl Natale and her husband Gabriele, Heather Squires and her husband Douglas Curry, Derek Fitzgerald and his wife Erin, her son-n-law Frank Ober and her grandchildren Giovanni Natale, Ava Knuppel, Nick Knuppel, Amanda Harvell, Joey Prescott and Emma Fitzgerald;,and great-grandchildren. Aiden Perdue, Frank Harvell Oliver Harvell and Joseph Prescott. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandi Ober.
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 20, at 3:00 PM at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the COPD Foundation.
A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life is planned for March 6, 2026
Jodi will be remembered for her quiet strength, deep faith, and enduring love for her family and community.
