Special Feature – Mooresville Public Library Announces 2025 Summer Reading Program Details.

Summer Reading Programs at Mooresville Library

Readers of all ages are invited to participate in Mooresville Public Library’s 2025 Summer Reading Program. The fun begins on Saturday, May 31 with our Summer Reading Kickoff celebration which will be held at Liberty Park, located at 255 E. Iredell Avenue from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. To commemorate this year’s theme, Color Your World, a color walk will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. A waiver must be signed to participate in this event. Patrons are encouraged to wear a white shirt, old clothes, and shoes. Sunglasses are also recommended. A FOAM-AND-FUN Party will follow at 10:00 a.m. In between events, patrons can register for Summer Reading, create a work of art to take home, and leave your mark on the library’s community art project. Once you have registered for Summer Reading, be sure to log your minutes throughout June and July. Prizes will be awarded along the way.

In addition to Kickoff, the library has plenty of exciting program offerings throughout the summer for patrons of all ages. Teens will be able to participate in Teen Tie-Dye Tag, participate in a song writing workshop with local artist Kayla Vega, make homemade soap at our West Branch, and learn the art of charcuterie board making.

Adults will be able to participate in the Great Puzzle Race, paint their partner, create a beautiful sunflower painting, and learn the ins and outs of raising chickens during our Backyard Chickens program.

Youth of all ages will be able to watch a presentation of Brightstar Theater’s The Wizard of Oz, join us at Liberty Park to learn about the Magic of African Rhythm, join Elementary Explorers for a presentation of Science Heroes, and join the Aloha Island Hula Girls who will perform at Liberty Park.

Be sure to visit us this summer and keep up with your reading list. We will help you choose the latest and greatest in print or digital format. For additional information, and for a complete list of programs taking place throughout the summer, visit our website at
