Restaurant Reviews: Willow Wood Coffee – Cornelius

A “really cool” place for coffee, breakfast, or lunch!

There’s a new coffee shop in Cornelius, on the corner of Hickory and S Main Streets. It anchors a little plaza of shops. It opened a few months ago and it’s the perfect spot for a cup of coffee, a meeting (there’s free WiFi) or a bite to eat.

One of their signature drinks: Oh Wow! coffee.

Oh Wow coffee!

I love coffee and I just had to try their signature “Oh Wow!” coffee which is a delicious blend of peanut butter, white chocolate, espresso and steamed milk. It is aptly named because after the first sip, I definitely said, “Oh Wow!” Even the fresh brew is a great cup of coffee. Their coffee is locally roasted and ethically sourced.

Feeling hungry?

How about a bite to eat? They offer both breakfast and lunch items. I ordered the Turkey Cheddar Apple Panini with Pea Salad. The panini was piping hot with gooey melted cheddar cheese, crisp apple slices, and a generous amount of turkey. The bread was toasted to perfection on their panini grill. The pea salad was appetizingly cool and crunchy. What a marvelous lunch!

A cozy gem

I was there for an early lunch around 11:15 am — it was busy, but the wait wasn’t long and there definitely was plenty of seating in this light, airy coffee shop.

Served with a smile

I have been to this shop for coffee before and the staff was just as friendly today as they’ve been on my previous visits. They truly embody their motto: Peace • Love • Coffee. I highly recommend you give them a try.
