Business Highlights:  Cele Baby!

 CELA BABY – a fashionable children’s store located at 18059-2, W. Catawba Ave. Cornelius.

I was doing my Radio show at WSIC Comm(UNITY) Centered with Debbie O’Handley when I noticed a darling children’s clothing store. It looked interesting so, I went in. The owner, Angela Long, gave me a tour and told me what trends were new and why.

Angela had a gift store that sold gifts and baby clothes for 10 years before moving to Cornelius, when she opened Cela Baby in February 2020. She saw a need for children’s clothing and filled it.

Some of the trends are obvious.

They include soft and muted tones as well as the use of bamboo in the fabrics. This is because it won’t overheat, and it is more comfortable.

These clothing styles are still very traditional, and the use of smocking is still very strong.

I loved the red and green Christmas dresses in a very soft corduroy fabric with the addition of smocking. This is very festive, baby friendly and in the spirit of the Holiday Season.

The other area that has changed since I had children, and even grandchildren, is the “Magnetic Me” line of sleep wear.

Next, we looked at toys.

Wooden toys are still in style. Of course, Noah’s ark was the first toy that came to mind. It had some modifications and updates but the same concept.

For a softer and cuddlier toy, JellyCat stole the show.

Lots of food toys- Cute and lots of fun to play with.

The Show Stopper is the Santa’s Kindness ornament. You scan the bar code every day and Santa gives you a Christmas Cheer and kind word. I loved it!

And last, but not least. A great way to share the news of a new baby coming is the Baby Shoe Christmas ornament.
