Fashion Friday- Chico’s Turns 40 This Year and has an Exciting New Look for Us!

Chico’s has been in the 16846 Birkdale Commons Parkway, Suite B, Huntersville, NC since 2002.

I had the pleasure of talking with Christine Sargent, the Assistant Manager of the Chico store in Birkdale. Both of us were thrilled with the new Colors and Styles. All who work in that store are very helpful and fun to work with. Their honesty is also a welcoming addition. Go and see for yourself all the new and welcoming changes.

A welcoming feeling to walk into style and Color

Sharon Washam and I started modeling for Chico’s 21 years ago.

We were under Donna and Betsy’s instructions. We were both told to go out into the store and find our favorite outfit, including any jewelry. Look at what we both selected and didn’t know until we came out of the changing rooms. That outfit I still cherish and wear often. As I am sure Sharon does as well.

Over the last 21 years, the store has made some interesting changes. But never changed the quality of their products and or their service.

Skirt lengths go up and down, color comes and go, and pants have full or tapered legs. As a past member of CMG (Color Marketing Group) we meet twice a year to create the color direction for all industries. We have to bring at least 7 new colors that have not been forecasted before along with a trend. For all industries-such as- fashion, home furnishing, automotive, down to the color of the Kleenex boxes to soap wrappers.

When the economy is good the length of lady’s skirts goes down. Window treatments go to full draperies. When the economy is bad the length of lady’s skirts goes up. Window treatments go to valances.

Trends are always 2 years ahead and have to do where we have been. How we are feeling and how we want to feel. I don’t think there is anyone that has not been effected by the pandemic. Chico’s is a great example of how we want to feel. Long dresses, lots of fabric and healing colors.

Chico’s is celebrating a big milestone! WE ARE 40- Just getting started. After 40 hears of creating carefully curated collections with quality, comfort, and versatility as the focal point, our 40th collection invites you to discover something extra unique in 2023. Pops of color, artful prints and globally inspired finds paired with exclusive travel accessories.

The return of the Dress! Black will always be a staple in our closets. Green, In the Dewey Color System means- BE IT!

“Green shades give you a stronger understanding of yourself. Be true to the child in you by taking the time to make sure the “me” in you is okay. You will access your inner power, which enables you to create a more nurturing supportive world.”

So where is the Magenta coming from? Magenta, In the Dewey Color System means- INSPIRE IT!

“Magenta enthusiastically inspires you to start something new. When you are open to the world, your world will be open to you. Like a magnet, you will gain the power to attract a new opportunity.”

One last Trend I saw was in Lady’s jeans and pants. They didn’t have the torn leg! And if they did, it was very little and not the main focus.

Are we going back from Rags to Riches?
I could never figure out why people were paying good money for torn pants?
