FARMERS MARKETS – Hampton Hills Farm – Iron Station NC

Last Wednesday was opening day!

Hampton Hills Farm Farmers Market is open every Wednesday from 3:30 pm to 7 pm throughout the summer. Don’t know where Iron Station is? Well, it’s just past Denver which makes your travel time 30 minutes or less depending upon where you live in Lake Norman.

Last Wednesday (March 30th) — In addition to veggies that you can buy to eat right now, Hampton Hills Farm had a variety of vegetables that you could take home and plant in your garden!

It is well worth the trip!

Not only were there fresh eggs, bread, lettuces, spinach, and the foods you would normally expect at a farmers market, but it is a combination artisan market as well, with pottery, dog treats, homemade jam, gorgeous flowers, and locally roasted specialty coffee. Click here for a list of this Wednesday’s vendors, food trucks, and musicians.

Margi Kyle and I had a marvelous time buying things!

Okay, I confess, I love fresh eggs, so I had to buy a dozen, then I needed some spinach and romaine lettuce (both delicious!). I bought a HUGE bone for my destroyer-level-chewer pit bull named Sedona — which she loved and is STILL chewing on it. I bought delicious Challah bread with black sesame seeds on it — some of the best I’ve eaten here lately. I bought coffee!! It was roasted locally and it was delicious — I will definitely buy more when I go back.
