There are many places to dine around the Lake Norman area. In addition to the national chains, there are many unique restaurants, offering a variety of entrees. Unless you know about them, or have received recommendations from your friends, how can you decide if you wish to try them?
LKNConnect.com has been writing Restaurant Reviews for some time. We have hundreds of reviews on our site. If you open www.Lknconnect.com and hover over the MAGAZINE tab, in the navigation bar, you will see drop down menus for REWIEWS and RESTAURANT REVIEWS.
We have had several writers sharing their thoughts about various locations around the lake. While different people have different views, it’s always good to see what is said about their dining experiences.
Here are excerpts from one of the reviews, featuring 131 Main Restaurant.
This is your go to Restaurant when you want Great Food, Service and Atmosphere — All under one roof!
I had forgotten how good their Cast Iron Corn Bread with Honey, was. They add Green Chilies and Jack and Cheddar Cheese to it, giving it a great taste. I always have the Grilled Artichokes as well. The Chef came out and said they were not good, so he didn’t buy any. Hope to have it soon and appreciated his honesty. We ordered their Double Dip with fire roasted Pepper Dip, Guacamole, Salsa with Tortilla Chips. Not much room for dinner — but we managed to do that as well.
Marlene had their Cosmos, and I brought a bottle of Red Wine for Alex and me. That is another reason I enjoy 131 Main. You can bring your own wine and there is no corking charge. Then is was time to get serious and think about what we wanted for dinner. I am not a salmon lover! However, I love their Appetizer of Smoked Salmon with aioli and toast. It is the perfect size, and the taste is outstanding.
But the Best of the Best was the dinner Marlene ordered. Danish Baby Back Ribs with Peanut Ginger Slaw and fresh Fries. Their menu has something for everyone, and Alex ordered the Beef Special. The table got very quiet when the food came, and we all left satisfied. Eric had a Hamburger and Luke said he had eaten the best Hot Dog EVER!
As mentioned, we have hundreds of reviews. We realize this is just one person’s opinion so, try the restaurants out for yourself and enjoy what the Lake Norman area has to offer.
