Affordable Dining Tips – Jack’s Corner Tap’s Burger Night

Let’s talk about Eating Out on a Budget.

My wife Karen and I love to go out to eat. However, let’s face it. It is getting more and more expensive to do so. Over the past several years we have discovered many places where you can still enjoy a good meal, at a cost that doesn’t break the budget. Our goal is to share some of the places we have discovered so that you can also continue having those dining experiences. Our plan is do the research and write reviews, posting them on www.Lknconnect.com (OK, truth be known, we love to go out to eat without breaking our budget. This allows us to dine out more often)

Introducing Jack’s Corner Tap.

Let me share our experience at Jack’s Corner Tap, located at 8301 Magnolia Estates Dr., Cornelius, NC. I must confess, we are regulars at Jack’s, so we knew about the Build Your Own Burger special night.

Thursday night is Burger Night at Jack’s, offering $6.00 build your own burger. Here is Jack’s complete Thursday night specials line up.

Knowing what to expect.

Their welcome sign says it all. We arrived shortly after 6:00 and were advised that it would be about a 50-minute wait. Because it was their special night, we were fully prepared for the wait. No problem on our part, we simply got a drink from the bar and enjoyed people watching. One of the families waiting with us said they come there often for the specials. Our table was ready in a little over 30 minutes. We left shortly after 7:00 and there were no people waiting to be seated. Talking with the hostess desk they said that, before 5:30 and after 7:30, that is generally the case.

How does Build You Own Burger work?

Notice the order sheet below showing how you “build” your own burger and select a side. This order sheet was my wife’s choices. (She had water to drink because she was still nursing a Moscow Mule from the bar)

Our meals came out in record time and were just like we ordered them.

I ordered my burger in a wrap along with the fried okra and a side of ranch dressing for dipping.

They do have good drinks from the bar.

Now for the good part. Check out the bill.

Karen even had to get a to-go box.

When it’s all said and done.

There you have it. If you just want a great burger and don’t mind a short wait, Jack’s is the place to go on a Thursday night. I mean, dinner for two, minus a bar tab, under $14.00. We did notice many people picking up a to-go order to avoid the wait.

Help us find places that offer specials.

If you know of a special deal, that we can check out, drop me an e-mail to [email protected]. We will go for ourselves and write about it on www.Lknconnect.com. By going to our website, you can find out places to Eat, Drink and Play in the Lake Norman area.
